Is Britain running out of gas?
What to make of reports that the UK's gas stores are at record lows for this time of year
It’s being reported that Britain only has about 60% of the gas stores it normally has at this time of year. I was on Peter Cardwell’s TalkTV show today to talk about what that means.
No government has taken this problem seriously, despite shortages and rising prices becoming more obvious.
They have believed that Britain could depend on the spot market and rush in supplies when needed, thanks in large part to our relative wealth. This led to reckless decisions about energy storage and production. But this puts more burden on tax and bill payers.
